Hello Tigers,

I am very excited about beginning my 3rd year as a Cortina Tiger! The 2023-2024 school year marks my 19^th year as an educator, and I feel grateful to continue the “heart work” of teaching and learning with each of you! Prior to Cortina, I served the roles of elementary teacher, instructional coach, and dean of students. Each role has uniquely shaped my philosophy and pedagogy. Working with children is my passion and that passion remains strong each school year as new challenges and opportunities for growth present themselves. I am most proud of the relationships I have formed with students and families over the years and am a firm believer in the power of a strong home and school connection. With your support, I know this school year will be the best one yet!

Here at Cortina, our students, staff, and community members truly are one family!  As a staff, we work collaboratively to serve each student’s individual needs.  We prioritize safety and student success.  Our teachers ensure that students have meaningful learning opportunities throughout the day and hold students to high expectations.

As a true Arizona native, I enjoy getting out in the sunshine, riding my bike, swimming, reading novels and gardening. My husband and I love to travel and explore new eateries. I also love spending time with my family and friends!

Please mark your calendars to join us on July 20th from 4:30pm to 6:00pm for Meet the Teacher night!  Don’t forget, a Cortina Tiger Always ROARS!
